Procedures

Due to a better understanding of facial aging, new procedures have been developed. These help in recreating the contours of the face by lifting and filling the tissues back to their youthful condition.

Dr. Diaz’s approach to facelift surgery follows the key techniques listed below, which help restore the youthful shape:

• Incisions are made along natural crease lines in order to camouflage scarring
• Surgery is done in the safest and most reliable way to achieve optimal results
• Underlying soft tissues are tightened and lifted
• Volume is added to the hollowed areas of the face

Extra skin is carefully removed and is re-draped to ensure the most natural looking result. All incisions are meticulously closed to keep scarring to a minimum.

Recovery

All bandages and dressings can be removed the morning after surgery. Patients may shower the first day after their procedure.

Patients can return to light activities, which includes driving, within a week. Bruises disappear over a two to three week period and most patients can return to work during this time. The majority of swelling goes down in approximately three to six weeks. Over time, scars will fade considerably.
