Forehead Lift Surgery
A winkled and heavy looking forehead makes us look aged and tired. This happens because the skin and soft tissues of the forehead descend due to gravity. Additionally, deep lines and wrinkles are created from a lifetime of contractions of the skin.
The solution is a forehead lift, which can turn back the clock and produce a more youthful-looking forehead. By removing some of the lines and wrinkles, this procedure can significantly rejuvenate your entire face.
Procedures
The two techniques offered for this surgery include the traditional approach called a coronal lift and the endoscopic browlift. The latter uses the assistance of a camera.
For over 30 years, the coronal browlift has been the technique of choice. The first step involves making an incision across the scalp. This is followed by manipulating the forehead and its soft tissue in order to diminish the appearance of lines, reposition the eyebrows, and remove the excess skin that has formed with age.
An endoscopic browlift is a newer technique that uses several small incisions and instruments that lift the forehead. A camera helps position special endoscopic instruments that enable Dr. Diaz to manipulate the soft tissues. Once the forehead is lifted, absorbable materials are used to keep the forehead in its new position. Dr. Diaz’s goal is to restore the shape and position of the eyebrows, and achieve a more youthful appearance.
During the initial consultation, procedure details, along with risks, benefits, and alternatives will be discussed.
