Botox

ModelOne of the first signs of aging is the appearance of lines. With time, these lines become deeper and transform into wrinkles. Botox is used to inactivate the muscles which cause lines and wrinkles to form.

The most commonly treated areas are the forehead, the area between the eyebrows and the area next to the eyes.

Botox is a great option for those individuals who do not yet have wrinkles but would like to prevent the wrinkles from forming. It is also great for those patients who already have wrinkles but would like to make them appear more smooth.

When injected properly, Botox is very safe. It also has a very high rate of patient satisfaction. My goal of treatment with Botox is to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles while maintaining a natural look.

Restylane

Restylane is a form of hyaluronic acid. This is a naturally occurring substance found in the body which acts primarily to cushion and hydrate tissues.

Restylane is used to fill in deep lines and wrinkles once they have formed. It is most often used to treat the deep lines next to the mouth referred to as the "nasolabial folds."

It can also be used to provide volume in the lips. My method of injecting restylane in the lips involves augmenting the natural landmarks of the lip. I find this method provides a natural looking and aesthetically enhanced result.

Juvederm

Juvederm also consists of hyaluronic acid. It has a high concentration of this substance making it soft and easy to inject. It is used similarly to Restylane. It is a great option for the treatment of finer lines and wrinkles.

This patient wanted to improve the appearance of the lines on his forehead. The picture on the left is his "Before" picture. It shows the wrinkles on the forehead when he raises his eyebrows. The picture on the right is the result after injection with Botox. The lines across the forehead are much smoother. Also notice that he is still able to raise his eyebrows. My method of injecting Botox improves wrinkles but maintains normal expression. The goal is an improved and natural result.

Injectables Injectables

This is a typical example of my results with lip augmentation. Notice that the upper lip is more full and completely natural looking.

Injectables Injectables

This is a patient who requested correction of the nasolabial folds. These are the lines that run from the nose down the sides of the mouth. I used a total of 2 syringes of Juvederm to fill in the lines. As you can see in the "After" photo, the fold is less deep and the correction looks very natural.

The patient shown below is a patient who requested correction of the nasolabial folds (the lines that run down from the nose to the side of the mouth). She also wanted more fullness of the lips. I used Juvederm Ultra to fill in both the nasolabial folds and the lips. Notice the smoothness of the lines. Also notice how natural her lips appear. My goal when using injectables is to always create natural looking results.

Injectables Injectables

The patient below had augmentation of both upper and lower lips with Juvederm. Notice the increased fullness. Notice also the natural appearance of the lips after augmentation.

Other Injectables

There are numerous additional injectables that can be used non-surgically to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles, as well as providing greater volume to the face. These include collagen, fat, Radiesse, Sculptra and Artefill, among many others. Each has its specific indications and advantages. If you are interested in any of these treatments, it is best to schedule a consultation to discuss them in detail.
